CSUF University Extension published an interactive digital annual impact report on the 2025-26 academic year, featuring the breadth of flexible learning options catered to advancing the academic and professional goals of over 16,000 students, including 500 graduates.

This year’s theme for the report was “pathways,” coinciding with Fullerton Forward, Cal State Fullerton’s Strategic Plan 2024-2029. Emphasizing the progress made across staff recruitment, student engagement and improving campus operations, UE noted specific actions made in contribution to the university’s comprehensive goals.

Prioritizing accessibility, the online bachelor’s degree-completion programs demonstrate that college is still worth the cost and positively impacts students’ career pathways. For example, Diane Viramontes, a recent alum of the sociology program, graduated with her daughter.

Certificate programs provide practical skills to busy professionals looking to further or change careers. The Crime and Intelligence Analysis program greatly prepared two alumni, Chloe Sciaccia and Pamela Farley, for roles in Orange County police departments.

Field courses at the CSU Desert Studies Center and the Leadership Development for Public Development program empowered cohorts to collaborate and learn together, inspiring new perspectives of California’s geographic and corporate landscape.

Ninety students enrolled in the University Semester Abroad program, just one of the short-term programs that attract international students to Cal State Fullerton.  Open University enrolled over 3,000 students throughout the academic year, highlighting a 2026 grad’s journey from being a non-admitted student to earning a bachelor’s degree and now pursuing a graduate degree.

Resources such as the Beyond the Classroom Blog and Titan Spotlights are linked throughout the report, showcasing tips for success and student testimonials. The career development, outreach events and milestones of UE employees were also shared, celebrating a combined total of 100 years of service to Cal State Fullerton.

In the conclusion, Karen McKinley, executive director of University Extension, elaborated on the UE mission to embrace growth, collaboration and innovation.

“Together, we will continue to expand pathways for learners; empower our staff, faculty, and instructors; strengthen connections across our campus and with our regional and global communities; and develop programs and partnerships that respond to evolving educational and workforce needs,” she said.

McKinley invites readers to connect with the University Extension team in an effort to enable success for all. View the full interactive UE Annual Impact Report online.
