New Role for Jessie Jones

C. Jessie Jones has been appointed to assistant vice president for academic and community partnerships effective Jan. 4. Jones has been serving as interim dean  of the College of Health and Human Development since July 2014.

In her new role, Jones will concentrate on expanding the capacity and impact of the University's centers and institutes, with a special focus on the CSUF Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, and working with campus faculty to explore foundation grant opportunities and implement community-engaged projects and research.

"I am confident that she will have the full support of the campus community as she engages in activities that will strengthen our community partnerships and deepen our stewardship of place," said José L. Cruz, provost and vice president for academic affairs.

This newly created position will build on the momentum, skills and experience Jones has already gathered in the establishment of the Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, as well as other development and community engagement activities. The professor of health science has been a CSUF faculty member for more than 20 years.
