Jean Ferrandis, professor of music, will solo with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in Mozart’s “Flute Concerto in G Major” and Fauré’s “Fantasie for Flute” during the annual Spring Concert Saturday, March 19, at Mariner’s Bethel Church in Ocean View in Delaware.

Alvin Rangel-Alvarado, assistant professor of theatre and dance, will perform the dance “Rainbow ‘Round My Shoulder” with Robert Pulido ’15 (B.A.-dance) at New York’s Lincoln Center March 22, 24 and 26. The dance’s choreography is by Donald McKayle, featured in the Pollak Library exhibit “African American Concert Dance Legacy 1930-70s” co-curated by Rangel-Alvarado, and the subject of the PBS documentary “Heartbeats of a Dance Maker.” McKayle conducted a lecture demonstration for CSUF dance majors in February as part of UC Irvine’s Etude Ensemble.

Rangel also will perform in “Bodies & Souls” April 8-17 at the University of Texas at Austin’s B. Iden Payne Theatre.

Bill Cunliffe, professor of music, will join the US Air Force Band of the Golden West for a free 8 p.m. concert by the Commanders Jazz Ensemble Tuesday, April 12, at Meng Concert Hall. Tickets are available online. Cunliffe will repeat the performance Wednesday, April 13, in Bakersfield’s Fox Theatre.
