Asma Taha, associate professor of nursing, was honored with the Paula Herberg National and International Award April 16 during the campus’ 10th anniversary celebration of Upsilon Beta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of nursing.
Taha, who joined the campus in 2014, was recognized for her work with vulnerable populations in Jordan, Jamaica, Palestine and Israel. The scholar plans to lead an expedition of nurses to Costa Rica, where they will learn about that country’s health care needs.
