Cal State Fullerton’s Latinx Lab for Storytelling and Social Justice and the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies will host an author reading with Ana Castillo on Oct. 30 from 10-11:15 a.m. in the Titan Student Union Titan Theater.
Castillo is a celebrated and distinguished poet, novelist, short story writer, essayist, editor, playwright, translator and independent scholar. Castillo has penned more than two dozen titles to date in a range of genres. She is credited as a pioneer of Chicana/x feminist works with a career that spans nearly half a century.
Castillo’s recent publications include “Doña Cleanwell Leaves Home,” published in 2023, and “My Book of the Dead: New Poems,” published in 2021. Her classics include “So Far From God,” published in 1993; “The Mixquiahuala Letters,” published in 1992; and “Massacre of the Dreamers,” published in 1994.
