Over the past fiscal year, Cal State Fullerton Extension had nearly 600 students enroll in its Online Bachelor’s Degree Completion Programs. The programs include bachelor’s degrees in business administration, humanities and social sciences, and sociology.
Online degree completion makes education more accessible to those who are looking for an alternative beyond the traditional on-campus classroom experience. This could include individuals who are frequently traveling, have an impacted schedule or need to stay at home. Thanks to the availability of these programs, a total of 160 students have graduated through Extension over the past year. These students participated in the same graduation ceremony and walked at commencement with on-campus students. Educational milestones deserve to be recognized and celebrated, no matter what format they were completed them in.
Online degree completion students enjoy several other benefits. They are taught by the same faculty members, enjoy the convenience of online flexibility and have the opportunity to be part of a cohort. Cohorts provide a set schedule of classes, so that students don’t have to stress about registration each semester. Students follow the same schedule as fellow cohort members, allowing them to network and build closer connections throughout the program all the way to graduation.
